Introduction
This policy explains what information Pass New Jersey collects, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers the Pass New Jersey app on iPhone, Android and the web, this website, its calculators, study tools, cheat sheets, contact forms and any emails we send at your request (together, the "Service").
Where things stand today
The Pass New Jersey app is launching soon and is not available yet. Until it launches, this website has no accounts, purchases, analytics or tracking cookies. The free tools save your progress only in your own browser, and the contact form opens a pre-filled email in your own email app; nothing is sent to us until you send that email.
Sections below that mention accounts, sign-in, purchases, sync, notifications, app analytics or the providers that power them apply once the app is available. We will update the date at the top of this page when that happens.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, sign-in details from Google or Apple if you use them, and the account identifiers our authentication provider creates. Some features work as a guest, with data kept only on your device.
- Study data: your answers, results, confidence ratings, bookmarks, notes, session timing, streaks, practice exam scores and settings.
- Free tools on this website: quiz results, checklists, flashcard progress and study plans are stored in your own browser (local storage). We do not receive them unless you create an account or send them to us.
- Email: if you email us or, once offered, ask us to email you a result or study sheet, we receive your email address, what you asked for and delivery information.
- Contact and support: your name, email, topic, message, any attachments and the record of your request.
- Stories and feedback: your rating, comments, the features you mention, an optional name and city and a snapshot of your progress. We only publish a story with your permission and after review.
- Website analytics: this website does not use analytics today. If we add tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or PostHog, they would collect usage information, and we will update this policy first.
- App analytics: off until you agree, and you can change your choice in Settings.
- Purchases: Apple, Google or our web payment provider handles payment. We receive purchase status and what you are entitled to, never your card details.
- Technical information: device type, operating system, app version, logs, crash reports, IP address and notification tokens.

3. How we store information
Some data stays only on your device. Account and sync data is stored with cloud providers such as Firebase and Firestore. Email and support records are kept in our database and email systems.
4. Third-party services
We rely on trusted providers to run the Service. Depending on how you use it, these may include:
- Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics and App Check
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- PostHog
- RevenueCat, for in-app purchase records
- Sentry, for error reporting
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple

Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy.
6. Advertising and sale of data
The Pass New Jersey app does not show third-party ads. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not work with data brokers.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. You can delete your account in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account, reset local data in the app, clear this website's data in your browser, or ask us to delete your email and support records.
9. Your choices and rights
- Ask to access, correct or delete your personal information
- Turn off optional analytics in the app
- Use Global Privacy Control, which we will honor where the law requires
- Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time
- Control cookies through your browser
10. Region-specific rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. New Jersey residents may have rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, including to confirm, access, correct, delete and get a copy of personal data and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling, where the law applies. California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. People in the European Union and the United Kingdom may have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. Residents of other U.S. states may have similar rights under their state laws.
To make a request, use the contact page or email us. We aim to respond to general privacy requests within 30 days and to California requests within 45 days, and within any other period your state's law requires. We may need to verify your identity first.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is designed for adults preparing for a real estate license. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Notifications and email
Study reminders and other notifications are optional and can be turned off in the app or your device settings. We may still send transactional emails about your account, purchases or requests.
13. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Where information is processed
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
15. Automated decisions
We do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Readiness scores, quiz results and study plans are educational estimates only.
16. Do not send sensitive information
Please do not send Social Security numbers, card or bank account numbers, government ID numbers, health information or confidential documents through our forms, email tools or support channels.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
