Why we built it
The New Jersey exam tests both national principles and state rules. Thirty of its questions are on state law, and they are specific. Five business days to deposit escrow. Three business days of attorney review. Five relationships on the Consumer Information Statement since August 2024.
So we started from the PSI New Jersey outline and wrote for it directly, with the math worked out step by step and a short practice check that points you toward topics to review.
Built on the outline
Every topic and question maps to the PSI New Jersey content outline: about 80 national questions and 30 on New Jersey law.
New Jersey first
New Jersey law has its own study section, with examples for escrow deadlines, attorney review and the Consumer Information Statement.
Every answer explained
Not just the right answer. Every practice question says why each wrong option is wrong, and every math question shows the steps.
Honest about readiness
The short check shows how you did on that set and suggests topics to review. It has not been validated to predict a PSI score or tell you when to book.
Checked against the source
Facts come from the PSI bulletin, New Jersey statutes and Real Estate Commission rules. We link the source documents so you can check any rule yourself, and when the rules change, the content changes.
One fair price
Most of the site is free. Premium will be a one-time $59.99 for lifetime access and every future update. No subscription, no upsells.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with PSI, the New Jersey Real Estate Commission or the Department of Banking and Insurance, and we are not a licensed prelicensing school. You normally need the 75-hour course unless NJREC approves an education waiver. PSI administers the exam. Always confirm requirements with the official sources.

Sources and corrections
Pass New Jersey publishes the Field Guide. The organization byline identifies the publisher; it does not claim an independent legal review or an individual professional qualification.
Check the rule and its effective date
Exam procedures are sourced to PSI. New Jersey licensing and practice rules are sourced to statutes, adopted regulations and NJREC guidance. Federal topics use the responsible federal agency or statute. Each guide links its sources so you can check the rule in context.
Dates, examples and uncertainty
The Field Guide covers rules through October 27, 2026. The updated date records an editorial revision, not a new effective date for the law. Later price observations are dated separately. Practice questions and worked examples are original study material, not live PSI exam questions. Study rankings and suggested schedules are editorial advice; where a source does not settle a point, we say what remains unconfirmed.
Report a correction
Send the article URL, the sentence or question ID, and the source you think it should follow through our contact page. Corrections should cover the article, its short answer, FAQs and any matching quiz feedback together. Claims of independent professional review will identify the reviewer and review scope only after that review has happened.
